This year's Honor Flight will lift off from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on September 21st. The program sends veterans who served anytime from the beginning of World War II until the end of the Vietnam War a "trip of a lifetime" to see the monuments in our nation's capital and other significant sites. Priority is given to terminally ill veterans.
This year the trip will take veterans to Washington D.C. Veterans who wish to apply will need to have a guardian able to accompany them.
The liftoff this year will be extra special, with a free concert at Wright-Patt to celebrate the flight. The event is open to the public, but you will need to order (free) tickets while they're available. Also be sure to review the security requirements as the event takes place on the base. |
